Dr Yakubu Balogun
Dr. Yakubu Balogun is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a recognised UK Global Talent Visa alumnus, and an experienced professional with a strong passion for people development, purposeful leadership, and community empowerment. With a background that spans academia, industry, and public service, he has spent several years helping individuals and organisations grow through data-informed decision-making, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement.
Beyond his technical career, Yakubu is widely known for his work in coaching, mentoring, and capacity-building, particularly among students, young professionals, and international communities settling in the UK. He regularly supports individuals in areas such as career planning, job readiness, UK workplace integration, and long-term personal development. His ability to simplify complex career pathways and provide tailored guidance has made him a trusted mentor to many.
Yakubu is committed to empowering people to discover purpose, build confidence, and thrive in new environments. He brings a warm leadership style rooted in faith, integrity, and service, ensuring that every engagement reflects compassion, excellence, and genuine care for people.
As Chair of G-Light Ambassadors Aberdeen, he provides strategic direction, governance oversight, and vision for community programmes that uplift, educate, and equip members for success in life and society. His driving belief is that everyone can shine when given the right support, opportunities, and encouragement.

Finance Trustee
Dr Nkorika Chiamaka Ilechukwu
Dr Ilechukwu is a General Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience across Ghana, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom. Her background spans rural medicine, public health, and community-based care, with a strong commitment to equity and access. Before relocating to the UK, she actively raised funds to support vulnerable patients and championed grassroots health initiatives in underserved regions.
As a Finance Trustee for G-light Ambassadors, Amaka brings strategic insight and fiscal stewardship to the charity’s operations. Her passion for medical education continues to shape her work, as she mentors emerging clinicians and advocates for excellence in training and service delivery. She is deeply committed to Glight’s mission of holistic transformation—combining compassionate outreach with sustainable impact.

Program Trustee
Dr Emmanuel Eke
Emmanuel is an IT and energy professional with a PhD in Offshore Decommissioning. With over 15 years’ experience in teaching, data, and engineering across academic and professional settings, he is passionate about using data analytics to enhance decision-making and empowering individuals through knowledge dissemination. After a brief stint in the UK energy sector as a Decommissioning Consultant with Xodus, he now works as an Advanced Programmes Instructor at Multiverse where he delivers data science and data engineering knowledge to apprentices. Outside of work, Emmanuel unwinds through sports and sight-seeing.
